Happy anniversary to me! I’ve just celebrated one year of taking a daily dose of tamoxifen and I can attest (smiling through gritted teeth) that the side effects are well set in and do not appear to be going anywhere any time soon. Yeah, yeah – I know this drug is protecting me from a relapse in my cancer but as I found with chemo, the side effects of tamoxifen seem to work counter to the whole process of getting well – in psychological terms for me at least.
Like a good little perfectionist I’ve been holding off on posting about Law 7 – the Law of Dharma or Purpose in Life – in Deekpak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Why? Well, I wanted to have it all together in my head, to have figured it all out before I started. Let me state for the record that I’m still a very long way from ‘having it all together’ and understanding the breadth and depth of this most inspiring yet intimidating of spiritual laws. But while I was procrastinating on this post three things happened that moved me closer to getting the dynamics of Dharma and my own purpose in life than any amount of desk research could ever do.
I love Fridays, and not because it’s the last day of the work week for most of us. As any working parent knows weekends and days off merely signal a change of tasklist! No – I like Fridays because it’s Law of Detachment day in Deepak Chopra’s, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success the day on which I was first introduced to the strangely comforting concept of the ‘wisdom of uncertainty’.Continue Reading
