VV-FRONT-COVERMy life was very different eight years ago, long before the Big Breast Adventure. I was working 10 to 12 hour days in-house with a huge, complex and demanding client who shall remain nameless (OK, it was Qantas). My mother-in-law had just passed away very suddenly sending shock waves through the family, my daughter was progressing through those challenging pubescent high school years and my son was struggling with an as yet unidentified learning difficulty. To say life was busy and stressed would be the understatement of the millennium.

7 – Work in Progress

Law 7 - Dharma or Purpose in Life

Like a good little perfectionist I’ve been holding off on posting about Law 7 – the Law of Dharma or Purpose in Life – in Deekpak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Why? Well, I wanted to have it all together in my head, to have figured it all out before I started. Let me state for the record that I’m still a very long way from ‘having it all together’ and understanding the breadth and depth of this most inspiring yet intimidating of spiritual laws.  But while I was procrastinating on this post three things happened that moved me closer to getting the dynamics of Dharma and my own purpose in life than any amount of desk research could ever do.

5 – It’s come to my attention…

I’d never heard of the Reticular Activation System (RAS) before being introduced to the concept at an Empowering Communication Program (ECP) I undertook at The Radiant Group in Sydney few years back. It was explained to me as the system in the brain that manages, among many other things, the ability to focus attention and the filtering of information between the conscious and unconscious mind. When you focus your attention on something the brain, being the highly efficient little organ it is, filters the myriad of data received each day and passes on the information that seems relevant.Continue Reading
